Jake's relationship with Maui's ocean spans more than three decades. His path—from tropical fish collector to professional dive guide and instructor—gave him a close view of how equipment, conditions, judgment, and confidence work together.

He created Shallow Water Diving Academy Maui to help fill a practical gap with instructor-led guided experiences, hands-on coaching, supplemental education, and a community centered on respect for the ocean. SWDA course milestones are not scuba certifications and do not authorize independent breathing-system use.
