Equipment, communication, equalization, breathing, and emergency procedures come first.

SWDA programs never exceed 30 feet. Most beginner water work remains much shallower.

Participants advance only after demonstrating the skills needed for the next step.

Buddy awareness, small groups, in-water instruction, and surface support are built into the model.

Surf, currents, visibility, weather, warnings, and lifeguard guidance are checked before each session.

Hands and fins stay off coral. Wildlife is viewed respectfully, and nothing is removed from the reef.
