PRIVACY NOTICE · EFFECTIVE AUGUST 24, 2026
Respect carries beyond the water.
SWDA collects only the information needed to answer requests, support bookings, review applications, protect participants, and operate responsibly.
01 · INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you choose to provide
SWDA may collect an adult's name, email address, phone number, organization or business information, scheduling preferences, general participant age band, water-readiness answers, accessibility notes, partnership or sponsorship details, and messages sent through the website.
The keiki interest form is parent- or guardian-led and asks families not to enter a child's name, school, address, diagnosis, medical records, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
02 · HOW INFORMATION IS USED
Purpose-limited use
- Respond to questions and identify an appropriate experience or learning path.
- Manage bookings, scheduling, readiness, safety follow-up, and customer support.
- Review sponsor, partner, and parent or guardian interest submissions.
- Maintain privacy-protected participation, system-use, and impact records.
- Prevent abuse, troubleshoot the website, and meet legal or safety obligations.
SWDA does not sell personal information and does not allow sponsors to contact or select individual children.
03 · BOOKINGS, PAYMENTS & OUTSIDE SERVICES
Some services operate their own systems
FareHarbor handles activity booking and its checkout information. Stripe may process eligible digital-product payments. Coursebox hosts online courses. Product and affiliate links may open third-party stores such as AirBuddy, Mozaik Underwater, Amazon, or another named seller.
Those providers apply their own privacy and security practices. SWDA does not receive or store a complete payment-card number through this website.
04 · SHARING
Limited to operating needs
Information may be shared with service providers that support booking, payments, course delivery, website hosting, safety administration, or communications; with an approved program partner when written roles and permissions require it; or when disclosure is required for safety, legal compliance, or protection of rights.
Public impact updates use aggregate information. A child's name, school, address, medical detail, or direct contact information is not published. Any identifiable story, image, or video involving a minor requires separate parent or guardian permission.
05 · RETENTION & SECURITY
Keep what is needed, protect what is kept
SWDA retains information only as long as reasonably needed for the request, booking, safety record, active agreement, accounting requirement, dispute, or legal obligation. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no online system can promise absolute security.
06 · YOUR CHOICES
Questions, corrections, and deletion requests
To ask what SWDA holds about you, correct information, withdraw an optional media permission, or request deletion when retention is not required, call 808-264-5789 or email BigJmaui@yahoo.com. SWDA may need to verify the requester before acting.
07 · UPDATES
Changes will appear here
This notice may be updated as SWDA's services and partners change. The effective date at the top identifies the current public version.
